Make the change you want

“Hypnotherapy can be used to help you gain control over undesired behaviors or to help you cope better with anxiety or pain. Hypnosis that’s conducted by a trained therapist or health care professional is considered a safe, complementary and alternative medical treatment.”

Hypnotherapy helps you bring lasting change into your life. The human mind is incredibly powerful. Hypnosis allows you to access and harness that power to stop smoking, lose weight, sleep soundly, overcome fears, phobias, anxiety, panic attacks, eliminate negative habits, build confidence and self-esteem, enhance performance, and much more.

Online sessions via Zoom

Online sessions are an opportunity for you to have hypnotherapy in a place that’s most comfortable for you – a safe space in your own home. Relaxation is an important part of hypnotherapy. It’s often easier to feel relaxed in a familiar environment at home rather than in a therapist’s office. All you need is a laptop or tablet, comfortable chair, sofa or bed in a quiet place where you’ll be undisturbed. Also, no more stress arriving to your session on time, or leaving your session and sitting in traffic on your drive home. The first part of your online session is for you to speak and for Myrto to understand the issue and the desired outcome you wish to achieve. This is a time for discussion and for Myrto to make detailed notes. The last part of your session you will be guided into hypnosis and given positive suggestions to make the changes you want. There is time for review and feedback at the end of your session and to book your next session if necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Contrary to popular belief there is nothing weird or mysterious about hypnosis and it is not a state of deep sleep. It is a naturally occurring relaxed state of heightened awareness. Hypnosis is an inward focusing of attention through which the demands of the outside world are switched off. It is a state of deep relaxation, a form of trance, during which the critical analytical mind shuts off, making the unconscious mind more accessible.

The US Department of Education defines hypnosis as: “The bypass of the critical factor of the conscious mind (a person’s analytical and judgmental ability) followed by the establishment of acceptable selective thinking”.

Acceptable selective thinking refers to the creation of new beliefs in the unconscious mind through reprogramming whilst in hypnotic trance. The reprogramming changes perceptions, breaks habits and creates new automatic responses to situations.

The Hypnotherapist acts as a guide to lead you into relaxation and hypnosis. During hypnosis, your body relaxes, and your thoughts become more focused. Like other relaxation techniques, hypnosis lowers blood pressure and heart rate, and changes certain types of brain wave activity. In this relaxed state, you will feel at ease physically, yet fully awake mentally and may be highly responsive to suggestion. Your conscious mind becomes less alert, and your subconscious mind becomes more focused.

No. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis; a hypnotist merely guides you into your own experience of relaxation.

No, quite the opposite – you will gain power! You remain completely in control throughout your hypnotic trance. You cannot be made to think, say or act in a way that you would reject in your normal waking life whilst in hypnotic trance – nothing can happen to you without your consent. You will respond only to suggestions you want to respond to and reject undesired suggestions.

No, your attention simply focuses inward so that outward attention becomes less, like daydreaming or to how you feel in the few seconds before you drop off to sleep. You are in a state of deep relaxation where the analytical, conscious part of your mind switches off and the unconscious part of your mind can listen and respond.

Clients generally report a relaxed, peaceful feeling, and a general feeling of well-being.

Since hypnosis is simply a process of natural experience and learning, everyone can be hypnotized. It is a myth that some people cannot be hypnotized; everyone has the capacity to relax, to learn and to be creative.
