Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy is designed to help people who suffer repeated bouts of depression and chronic unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.

Gestalt Dreamwork is a way to learn from all sides of your dream by enacting every part of your dream in the present tense, helping you to feel, notice and recognize your own feelings.

Myrto Lussier is a certified hypnotherapist, motivational life coach, addiction specialist and teacher. Myrto works with adults, children, teens and groups and also teaches self-hypnosis and meditation. She collaborates closely with physicians, dentists, psychotherapists and other healthcare professionals to help clients in their quest for a healthy, happy life.
Born in Athens, Myrto has lived and worked most of her life in London. She moved to Los Angeles with her husband in 2012.
Myrto is a member of ACHE —the American Council of Hypnotherapist Examiners and a member of NSPH – National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists in the UK.

3 Signs That You’re Eating Because of Emotional Reasons

Something stressful happens and you immediately want to eat. True hunger isn’t affected by things like getting into a fight with your spouse or having a bad day at work.

An overwhelming urge to eat comes on suddenly. Real, physical hunger builds up slowly. You shouldn’t go from “fine” to “starving” in an instant.

You only desire one particular food. When you’re hungry, you might have a preference (you’re in the mood for pasta, for example) but you can easily settle for something else. If you can only be satisfied by chips or ice cream, the urge to eat is probably emotional.

Freedom From Addiction

There is no cure for being an addict, but with help you can quit addictive behavior.

We use counseling and hypnotherapy (therapy combined with hypnosis) to help our clients let go of trauma, come to terms with their pasts and stop using drugs and alcohol to run away from painful experiences.

This is a gentle therapeutic approach to altering fundamental beliefs and thought patterns to conquer addictive behavior in clients who are active and willing participants in their own recovery from addiction.

Studies published in the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis have found that addicts who attend hypnotherapy sessions regularly for periods ranging from six months to a year after leaving treatment centers are less likely to suffer relapse.

Fears and Phobias

You are not alone if you suffer from irrational fears and phobias. The Mental Health Institute figures show the percentage of people diagnosed with Anxiety Disorders is on the increase, year on year.

A phobia is an irrational fear that poses little or no danger to the person but causes intense anxiety and distress, often becoming incapacitating and detrimental to the health of the individual.

There are many types of phobia but we list them here as four types:

MEDICAL These include fear of injections, operations, dental treatment, x rays and other procedures

ENVIRONMENTAL These include fear of thunderstorms, water, darkness, heights, open spaces, enclosed spaces and crowds are just a few examples

ANIMAL Fear of snakes, spiders, rats, mice, cockroaches, moths and dogs just to name a few

SITUATIONS Fear of visiting the dentist or doctor, fear of flying, driving, swimming, funfair rides, elevators, dating, public speaking, tests and exams etc.

These phobias often start in childhood and progressively become more acute in adulthood. Using a gentle therapeutic approach of counseling and hypnosis, we work with each client to identify their phobia’s triggers, change their thinking and break the erroneous link between the trigger and the fear.

You will be amazed at how quickly and effortlessly you can let go of fear and anxiety and regain control of your life.

Sleep is a naturally occurring state in all living organisms and necessary for a healthy and happy life.

Insomnia is caused by conscious and unconscious anxiety over a variety of life issues. Often, the anxious thoughts are free floating and not attached to specific life events/ problems. It can be anything at all that just keeps going round and round in your mind: things to do tomorrow, something someone said or even just the thought “I can’t sleep”.

FAQs

What is Hypnotherapy?

Contrary to popular belief there is nothing weird or mysterious about hypnosis. It is a naturally occurring relaxed state of focused concentration. You are in hypnotic trance whenever you experience a shift from the usual state of waking or ordinary consciousness, initiated by focusing attention and concentration. The most common examples are: whilst driving on the freeway on “auto-pilot” or when you “lose” yourself while watching a movie.

Hypnosis is an inward focusing of attention through which the demands of the outside world are switched off. It is a state of deep relaxation, a form of meditation, during which the critical analytical mind shuts off, making the unconscious mind more accessible.

During hypnosis you are not asleep and nothing can happen without your consent. You can hear everything being said and afterwards will usually remember all that has happened while in hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is a useful supplement to orthodox medicine and can achieve considerable success in its own right.

Will I Lose My Power While Under Hypnosis?

No, quite the opposite – you will gain power.
You remain completely in control throughout your hypnotic trance. You cannot be made to think, say or act in a way that you would reject in your normal waking life whilst in hypnotic trance – nothing can happen to you without your consent.

How Quickly Does it Work?

All Hypnosis is Self-Hypnosis. The Hypnotherapist simply acts as a guide to lead you into hypnosis. During hypnosis, your body relaxes and your thoughts become more focused. Like other relaxation techniques, hypnosis lowers blood pressure and heart rate, and changes certain types of brain wave activity. In this relaxed state, you will feel at ease physically, yet fully awake mentally and may be highly responsive to suggestion. Your conscious mind becomes less alert and your subconscious mind gains focus.

The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis defines hypnosis as:

“A state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention”

The US Department of Education defines hypnosis as: “The bypass of the critical factor of the conscious mind (a person’s analytical and judgmental ability) followed by the establishment of acceptable selective thinking”.

Acceptable selective thinking refers to the creation of new beliefs in the unconscious mind through reprogramming whilst in hypnotic trance. The reprogramming changes perceptions, breaks habits and creates new automatic responses to situations.

Hypnotherapy is a collaboration – your success is dependent on your motivation to change and your practicing self-hypnosis relaxation whilst listening to the recorded suggestions in between sessions.

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, a bill will automatically be sent to you and you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
